Surgery Academy is an innovative and revolutionary startup for learning surgery anywhere you are, through a smartphone, tablet or PC.
We want to create a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for students of medicine and surgery and for health professionals.
The real value of what we want to make is in its reversibility. In other words, Surgery Academy is the first massive open online course applied to surgery. Students, surgeons, interns and healthcare professionals will finally be able to enter into a real operating room. The operating room will be "open". Students will be able to consult the anonymised medical records of patients under surgery, ask and reply to questions.
We have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo at this address:
We are sure that the world of University is changing. The University is no longer the temple of knowledge reserved for a bit of people.
The University must be accessible for everyone, anywhere in the world. And we want to begin from the field of the health. For this evolution of the education system, we use the augmented reality of Google Glass. We combine the latest technology with the oldest and most important disciplines. Thanks to augmented reality features and immersive content approach we participate in the process of transforming and evolving the classical academic teaching method. The University is an old concept for it is too bureaucratic and hierarchic. In the wave of Khan Academy, Coursera, edX.org, we want to improve the eLearning market. In fact, it is currently worth $50 billion with a 100% CAGR over the next two years.
