The NEA Art Works grant will help to support outreach and educational events related to the Land Art Generator Initiative design competition. Events will be taking place in New York City from July through October of 2012.

Land Art Generator Initiative announces $20,000 in prize money for the competition open until July 1, 2012. The open call asks for large-scale artwork proposals for Freshkills Park that generate utility-scale renewable electricity for New York City.

The Land Art Generator Initiative public events and educational outreach programs are made possible thanks to grants from the Horne Family Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and individual donors. LAGI is a project of Society for Cultural Exchange, a US 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that, through interdisciplinary processes, provides a forum for local and international communities to engage with the arts and environment.
