Lush becomes world’s first green model agency
Lush Group has joined forces with Advanced Global Trading to reduce the environmental damage created by its operations and will offset any remaining environmental damage over the year to become the world’s first carbon neutral model agency.

A Dubai-based model agency has landed a world-first after going green thanks to a partnership with a global Carbon Credit brokerage.
Lush Group has joined forces with Advanced Global Trading toreduce the environmental damage created by its operations and will offset anyremaining environmental damage over the year to become the world’s first carbonneutral model agency.
Speaking at a photo session with Lush models and some smittenCarbon Credit brokers at AGT’s Middle East headquarters in Dubai, Lush CEO,Kelly Mackinnon, explained the motivation for the initiative. “We have over 300models on our books and can have a large number of these working at any onetime around the UAE and sometimes outside the country. This all adds up to asignificant impact on the environment over the course of a year when youconsider flights, car journeys, power used – and of course hairspray,” shelaughs. “However, in all seriousness, we are proud to be representing theindustry in terms of environmental consciousness and showing modelling isn’tjust about looking good,” she said.
After a series of information sharing sessions carried out by AGT,designed to reduce and minimise Lush’s environmental damage, the remaining CO2emissions expected over the next year will be calculated and AGT will retirethe equivalent number of VER (Voluntary Emissions Reduction) Carbon Credits tooffset this damage.
AGT Director, Charles Stephenson, said: “While Lush is now possiblyour best looking client, we’ve been impressed by their environmental awarenessin coming forward and offering to purchase and retire enough Carbon Credits tooffset their first year’s emissions. We wish them all the best in their firstyear of operation and will always be delighted to see them in the office.”
